According to Hindu mythology Lord Ganesha was born during the Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month of the Hindu calendar. So the festival usually falls in the month of August and September of the Gregorian calendar. This year the festival will be celebrated on 19 September 2023. The Vinayak Chaturthi 2023 will start from 18 September 2023 and will conclude on 19 September 2023. The duration of the same day will be for two hours 27 minutes.

  1. Ganesh Chaturthi does not ever fall on a full moon or Purnima. As the name itself indicates , it falls on Chathurthi which is the 4th day after Amavashya or new moon. Pl correct your reporting
